He’s always been so open with you, with both affection and other things, so why wouldn’t he say something?
Somehow, the glowing eyes of those imps makes you feel more ill at ease, but you try your best to ignore them.

So you hold yourself together just long enough to stride across the tile mosaic, eyes flitting anxiously between him and this… girl who’s draped herself all over him, and ask what’s going on. He tells you, in no uncertain terms, that he’s “moving on,” and when you argue that you sold your soul to save him, he has the audacity to thank you for giving him the chance to meet her. As you watch him leave with his new girlfriend, you fall to your knees with a sob, and the pieces of your heart you’d gathered shatter like glass around you.
It isn’t until you’ve made it home that the imps slither under your door, bringing with them a haze of smoke that makes you choke, as if it wasn’t hard enough to breathe around the lump in your throat. The air swirls as if alive, and finally, it coalesces to form one of the most feared gods of all, and he makes himself at home as if he owns the place. With a sinking feeling, you realize he does.
“Hello, Megara.” His voice alone sends shivers down your spine. “I’ve come to collect on our little deal.” ]

Well, that's not unheard of where I'm from, but it is uncommon. But even those gods aren't reliable when it comes to understanding mere mortals like me.

I don't exactly have many good things to say about the Zhongguo gods, frankly, and I'm left to spend my time amongst them. I doubt it would be all that different for yours.

For as long as it's an indulgence that counts for more than the others do, there's going to always be at least one person willing to do it. [ he keeps his hand over his face, but not enough to obstruct his voice. ] We didn't catch Mahito's killer. We managed to get HK-47 as an afterthought, Law who might have been justified in killing based only on revenge that we can't prove, and Misa who didn't follow through on it but still somehow counted on a technicality.

He didn't exactly endear himself to most of us, and choosing someone like Aoi as a victim would never have worked in anyone's favor, anyway. She was too... I don't imagine that he did. [ Mahito certainly wasn't someone that went out of his way to endear himself to people in any way. ] It's not a kindness, but she was certainly someone that essentially offered herself up to be the perfect victim for a more apathetic killer to target, no matter how unintentional it was. Agreeable, and vulnerable.
